M.A (Master of Arts)

Master of Arts (MA) is a post-graduation level course which is usually of two years duration. Candidates who possess a graduation degree can only pursue an MA course.

MA is a specialized course in which aspirants are offered in-depth knowledge of the discipline they have selected. MA course is usually done in a specific specialization such as English Literature, sociology. The main purpose of an MA course is to impart specific knowledge among students that helps them to gain expertise in that particular subject or domain, and to prepare a significant base for higher studies such as PhD or M.Phil courses.

A Master of Arts degree increases one’s capabilities and skills such as Logical Thinking, Creative Writing, Analytical skills, Communication skills and basic research skills. Students who are interested to make a career in the non science fields such as administration, political consulting, and other prominent government departments usually pursue the course to have a bright future ahead. The main learning outcome of the course is to provide better understanding of the subject and gain deeper knowledge so that students can apply those skills and knowledge in the real world. Students are also required to attend seminars and workshops as a part of their curriculum which enhances their academic and professional experience.
